Prayer books....drawing....getting ready to return....

Hi,

I am in the process (almost finished) of putting together a book of prayers for the Chinese.  After I get this out, I would like to hear desired prayers for those in the U.S.  that I can take back with me for them to be praying for us.

I will be leaving sometime after the new year.  Hopefully, sooner than later.

Here is the latest drawing I have just finished.

Here is the finish.

Here is the finish.  One drawing is from April this year.  The other one is a version of it that I drew to see the progress made in drawing skill.  I just finished it, first of November.  seven months.

Divine Provision

This drawing was a bit challenging, and I am still not sure I am finished with it.  I started with the tree and roots, and the rest just kinda developed around it.  There are four sparrows that are a bit hard to see.  A friend saw this one and made the comment, "He satisfies the desires of every living thing.".  This drawing may change a bit until I am satisfied with it.

A stroke at a time...

I want to thank all you guys who are helping me get back to China.  I should  not be much longer and then I can go.  I do not know if it will be before or right after the holidays.  I will keep you updated.  In the meantime, here is another drawing I am working on.  I started just playing with the tree trunk and roots, and I am just kinda taking is a stroke at a time and seeing what it turns out to be.  There really is no preplanning in this one, which is very different for me.  I usually have my drawings visualized completely before I draw them.  ---joy

American Lady

Sitting outside, I watched this butterfly for a while flutter from Marigold to Marigold.  I decided to grab my camera and have fun.

waiting...

Still waiting on the visa to go......and working on two pictures now... one is the previous drawing and another is from a gardening shop here in Clarksville, TN. The first drawing I am still working on, is almost completed. I can't seem to get the shrubs and the grass right...I will keep at it.

Okay. Waiting is necessary but definately not fun. Visas (especially for China) take time. In the meantime I am working on drawing a picture for a very good friend. It is of a vision (or dream--I don't remember which) that she had. It is just in the starting stages, but will keep me busy until I am ready to leave for China.

Welcome

I spent the past year learning about China and traveling through Harbin. During that year, I have begun to learn to draw what I see. I kept a journal of all that I experienced. I am working now on a backpacking plan to travel the eastern provinces of China, learning the country, language, culture, and so much more. I will also begin to draw what I see of this beautiful country and its people. The trip will take place over 12 months, with trips out of the country to stay in compliance with visa regulations. I can't wait to get started. I am awaiting the visa as I write this.
