Temple Steps, Xian, China

Here is the latest drawing.  This one proved very difficult for some reason, but in the end I did it.  This drawing is from the front of a temple in Xian, China.  Next, I will be attempting my first portrait of a friend's little miracle baby that was born as a premie and has had a lot to overcome.  At one point he was in the hospital and almost died.  Standing in faith, the little one has made it.  So I am hoping to be able to draw them a memory of their miracle.  I will keep you posted on the progress.

Peek-a-boo

I hope to have these two drawings finished by Monday.  One is of the front porch of a temple in Xian.  The other is of a female bluebird that I managed to get a camera shot of while she was peaking at me through my bedroom window this last February.

As Clay in my Father's Hand

This pot with water flowing out of it was in the river inside the Opryland Hotel in Nashville last fall.  When I see it, I think of a river flowing from my Father's throne.  I think of the Holy Spirit flowing through me and overflowing into the lives of those around me.  This past week, I was reading Jer 18: 1-6, and I saw the clay pot (or vessel) molded by the hands of the Father ready for use. 

Buzzing around....

I have been working on this drawing, drawing this little guy over and over again, but I can't just seem to get him right.  He was posing for the camera last fall on a miniature zinnia in a friends garden.

I am working on two specific drawings right now.  They have both been a challenge, but I think it is just my focus that's been the problem, too much to do lately, but it will change in a week or so.  Here is one of the drawings, in progress.  Also, take a peak at my website under the "artist statement" link and view the direction that drawings and development this next year will be moving towards.  www.chinajoy.artspan.com
