The Fire Has No Power - Part 2

"NEBUCHADNEZZAR THE king [caused to be] made an image of gold, whose height was sixty cubits or ninety feet and its breadth six cubits or nine feet. He set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.

Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the satraps, the deputies, the governors, the judges and chief stargazers, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs and lawyers, and all the chief officials of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image which King Nebuchadnezzar had [caused to be] set up.

Then the satraps, the deputies, the governors, the judges and chief stargazers, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs and lawyers, and all the chief officials of the provinces were gathered together for the dedication of the image that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up, and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Then the herald cried aloud, You are commanded, O peoples, nations, and languages,

That when you hear the sound of the horn, pipe, lyre, trigon, harp, dulcimer or bagpipe, and every kind of music, you are to fall down and worship the golden image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up.

And whoever does not fall down and worship shall that very hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace."  Daniel 3:1-6

What fire are you presented with in your life today?

Is it a broken marriage, an illness or disease, financial debt, addiction,...????  If this is you, you are not alone.  God did not promise us that we would not go through life's fires in our lives as believers.  He did tell us that we would overcome them and be victorious if we trust him and run the race to completion.

Daniel Chapter 3 shares with us three men, leaders within the kingdom, who were put in the fire and what happened when they placed their trust in God.

Notice that God did not call these three men into the fire.  He was the one that helped them through it.  God does not create the problems in our lives.  He is the answer to them.  How do I know this?

John 10:10 says, "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."

What does trust in God bring?  "Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.  In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths." Proverbs 3:5,6
