Who Am I? I Am Under Construction.

Butterflies are amazing little creatures.  They can be so beautiful and colorful.    However, they did not enter the world that way.

I recently read an article by Cathy Duplantis in the June/July 2013 Voice of the Covenant Newsletter.  She mentions one of the first verses she memorized from the Bible was Romans 12:2.

"And be not confirmed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."  KJV

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.  Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."  NLT

God's Word changes us from the inside out if we let it.  Previous posts to Who Am I? DailyDevo tell what happens when we become a new Christian and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

But what happens next?  Spiritual growth.  Just a child grows from infancy to adulthood.  We begin to grow spiritually through God's Word and our relationship with Him.

The life of a butterfly illustrates the what  happens when we allow God's Word to transform us from the inside out.  We become a beautiful outward display of His Glory and who He is in this world.

God's Word transforms our lives to match the newly created spirit man we received the day we accepted Jesus in our lives.

This is why sometimes we can see a believer who accepted Christ, but is not living a life that displays outwardly Christ within Him.  When we are born again, we receive the new spirit man, but we must get into God's Word to see outward change in our minds and bodies.  Why is this?

We cannot apply to our lives what we do not know we have.

His Word is alive and will reveal to you the revelation of Jesus Christ,  the Old Testament gives us types and shadows of Jesus before He came, and the New Testament provides the testimony of Jesus Christ; all he said and did, why, and how it applies to you?

The Word contains wisdom to be revealed to all who desire it for every situation and area our lives will ever require. It shows us the thoughts of God; what He likes and dislikes, what is pleasing to Him, what makes Him rejoice, what makes Him sad.  The bible brings to light His great love for His children, and the Kind of Father He really is.

Transformation into the new life in Christ begins with making a decision.  A decision to choose life and blessing.  A decision to live abundantly above all that you could ever think or imagine.

for-the-truth-of-christianity/
I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live and may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20
