Who Am I? I Am a Dreamer.

A favorite past time of mine is drawing.  I love to just sit and get lost in the strokes, the shadows, the high lights, and creating of a realistic three dimensional illusion out of a two dimensional drawing.  God gave us all the ability to envision and create inner images of His plan for us.  

Here are a few ways God gave inner images of His plans:

 Abraham's direct image:  And He brought him outside [his tent into the starlight] and said, Look now toward the heavens and count the stars--if you are able to number them. Then He said to him, So shall your descendants be.  Genesis 15:5

Joseph's image in a dream:  And he said to them, Listen now and hear, I pray you, this dream that I have dreamed:  (7)  We [brothers] were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright, and behold, your sheaves stood round about my sheaf and bowed down!  Genesis 37:6,7

Peter's image in a trance:  The next day as they were still on their way and were approaching the town, Peter went up to the roof of the house to pray, about the sixth hour (noon).  (10)  But he became very hungry, and wanted something to eat; and while the meal was being prepared a trance came over him,  (11)  And he saw the sky opened and something like a great sheet lowered by the four corners, descending to the earth.  (12)  It contained all kinds of quadrupeds and wild beasts and creeping things of the earth and birds of the air.  (13)  And there came a voice to him, saying, Rise up, Peter, kill and eat.  (14)  But Peter said, No, by no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common and unhallowed or [ceremonially] unclean.  (15)  And the voice came to him again a second time, What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, do not you defile and profane by regarding and calling common and unhallowed or unclean.  (16)  This occurred three times; then immediately the sheet was taken up to heaven.  Act 10:9-16 

 How does God primarily reveal and imprint images of His plans with us?  

You:   Your inner image (your vision, plan and purpose) comes through His Word.  (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).  As we read and meditate upon His Word, God equips us for every good work.  He shows us and directs us in every area of our lives.

Turn to Ephesians 1:17-19 Amplified 

 Verse 17:  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 

We are created in His image.  We are saved, healed, redeemed, delivered and much more as a result of what He did.  Ask Him daily for the next month or more for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.  Let Him reveal who He is to you.  Learn who you are in Him.

Verse 18:  By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 

In the process of praying these verses daily, you will begin to see the plans He has for your life.  Your life will change forever.

Verse 19:  And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, 

We will come to realize not only His plans for us, but also the HIS immeasurable, unlimited, and surpassing GREAT POWER that is IN each of us who believe.

His great power is for ME!  His great Power is for YOU!  His great power IS IN EVERY believer!  His great power is how we accomplish all the dreams, visions, plans, and inner images He plants within us for our lives.

Getting the picture, the inner image, is the first step in gaining direction in your life, opening you to opportunities beyond your own abilities and dreams.
