Who Am I? I Am "at-one-ment."

During my spiritually younger years, I heard pastors use words that I really did not understand during the Church service messages. These were often Biblical or Christian words that become part of a Christian's vocabulary as they study God's Word.

One of these words is atonement

Looking back, I understood the concept, just not the word itself.

What is atonement?

This word has many various definitions in different dictionaries. A literal translation of this word means "at-one-ment."

Atonement basically means reestablishing (reconciling) the relationship between God and man by dealing with sin.

Why is this important?

Jesus provided atonement and dealt with sin by becoming the perfect Sacrifice, reestablishing the relationship between God and man.

As a result of His Sacrifice, Jesus Christ has provided every man the opportunity to receive the gift of Eternal Life (Salvation),  deliverance, protection, healing, restoration (being made whole), and so much more.  As a believer, it is just a matter of knowing what is yours because of what He did.  (Ephesians 2:5-8)
