Who Am I? I Am Seeking to Find.

How to know God?
Know God?  I can do that?  Yes.  We have His Word which reveals who He is to us.

Enoch is an example of someone who knew God.  What did he do?  How did he get to know God?

Genesis 5:18-24 [18] Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot Enoch. [19] After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters. [20] So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died. [21] Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. [22] After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. [23] So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. [24] And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Jude 1:14-15 [14] Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, [15] to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
Enoch walked with God, and pleased God.  Enoch took the time to get to know what pleased God, and he did it.

A newly married couple goes through what is often referred to as "the honeymoon period" at the beginning of the marriage.  This is a time of getting to know one another.  Spending time together is the only way to get to know someone.

How do you spend time with God?
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Psalm 119:2
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6
Hezekiah also came to know God.  How did he know God?
And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered. 2 Chronicles 31:20,21
Our Heavenly Father does not force Himself upon us.  We choose to become of Christian.  We choose to seek Him.  We choose to spiritually grow and develop in Him and with Him.

Begin by seeking Him daily.  Just as marriage is a lifetime commitment, so is your relationship with God.  Every day is another day to know Him more, to build a deeper relationship with our Father.  Give Him your whole heart, and and you will find Him.  Spend time in prayer both talking and listening, in worship, tell Him how thankful you are each day, read His Word and let it reveal Him to you, and have patience allowing time for the relationship to develop.

Just as he said with Hezekiah above, "seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered."
